It was a cold night but another
heart-warming outcome for the annual Sleep Out co-sponsored by the Chamber and
the Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency. Thanks to the Sleep Out
participants and support from Consumers Energy and DTE Energy, the Sleep Out
raised $18,976 to be used by the NMCAA to help families in Northern Michigan
keep up on their winter heating bills. That's more than $40,000 raised by the
Sleep Out in the past four
years.
